Preparing to share her newest album Feel The Breeze on July 30th, Chesca has left another bread crumb in the leadup in the form of “Orange County Juice”. Effortlessly infusing a wide array of genres on this particular single like R&B and Dream Pop, we can confidently state that she’s 2 for 2 in terms of pre-album releases. Equal parts dreamy, sensual, and lyrically powerful, we’re pouring ourselves a tall cup of “Orange County Juice” on this sunny Friday afternoon. In a song that feels lighthearted and breezy at moments, this is a track coming from an album that plans to explore a “place of deep personal sadness and anxiety - and a desire to break free”. Feeling burnt out from the pandemic like so many, it’s art like this that not only is aiming to lift up the listener, but we can only imagine lifted up Chesca in the process.
At just a tad under a four minute run time, it was honestly a bit mind boggling as to how quickly we got sucked into the world of the artist. Featuring a twinkly background, upon subtle keyboards driving the track, this was for certain a vocal forward single that allowed Chesca’s voice to lead the charge. As she began to tell her story in an obviously beautiful way, we couldn’t help but be strung along by every lingering line. As much as we loved the original lead track to Feel The Breeze, we honestly feel like this was the standout. If anything, it has provided the perfect base for the upcoming record.
As July 30th feels like it’s just around the corner, we know we’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for more to come prior to the album.
