Kayla Silverman explores her process on "Breaking and Entering" - Interview

Fresh off the release of her latest single, “Breaking and Entering”, we got the invaluable opportunity to sit down with the artist herself, Kayla Silverman, to talk all about it in a full discussion. Watch our full interview below.

Currently representing the Boston music scene, Kayla Silverman is an indie pop singer and songwriter who has downright impressed us on her latest track, “Breaking and Entering”. Heavily influenced by the likes of Mitski, Bruno Major, and Weyes Blood (among many more), her music toes the line of pop, electronic, and glimmers of classical music. Our interview with the artist was the perfect insight into her musicianship and what’s to come in the near future.

It’s not often we have a nearly instant rapport with an artist that we get to interview, but we think we can confidently state things went smooth during our conversation with Kayla Silverman. While we’d obviously prefer for you to watch it and get the inside scoop, the real overarching priority is for you to check out “Breaking and Entering”. It’s definitely the ideal single to introduce yourself to her music, but don’t think that’s all she’s got. There’s plenty on the way and even more to discover in her back catalog.

According to Kayla, this single was written “for those who are up at 3 am and have no one to talk to but their own thoughts and inner demons”. “Breaking and Entering” features an absolutely ethereal and atmospheric opening that powers right into Kayla’s set of astonishing vocals. Followed by a production that’ll make the hairs on your arm stand up, this near four and a half minute track needs to be the next piece of music in your listening queue. It’s an introspective track lyrically, but also shows off its versatility as to something that you could get up and dance to as well.

Now we don’t want to give too much away here on the background or the actual song itself, so we’ll hope you just take our word for it and hop into this listening experience as soon as you possibly can. We’ve done the easy part and linked everything below in order for you to listen and follow along for everything Kayla Silverman. Enjoy!
