Blueprint Tokyo preview new EP with stunning single, "Say Anything"

Exploring darker themes within the tone of the song, Blueprint Tokyo have completely nailed the vibe on their newest endeavor “Say Anything”. Recorded between Oklahoma City and Los Angeles, the band have bridged the gap between a retro and nostalgic sound, all the while taking listeners into the modern realm of indie rock. It features glimmers of dream pop as well in our eyes, but whatever label you’d ultimately like to put on it, we just know that it’s a well formed and expansive track. Of course, we’re highly recommending everyone out there give it a spin.
Freshly released on October 7th, 2022, Blueprint Tokyo are following up their 2021 EP A Whole New Life which we’ve now had the opportunity to listen to and enjoy. While we can’t speak just yet on how major the differences are going to be, this certainly does feel like an evolution and minor pivot from what we experienced in the past. “Say Anything” is a more mature and complete sound and has 100% capitalized from what we liked most on the previous record. You’re getting much more of a fullness from the instrumentation, the production has taken a major step up, and there’s seemingly infinite styles that have creeped their way into the final mix. In the world of music nowadays where everything is influenced from something else, this actually is a fresh take and avenue of sound that’s original.
At just a tad under three minutes, the band immediately immerses you in the atmospheric world and doesn’t let go until the final moments. You almost need to listen multiple times just to get the full point across and hear the subtleties that you might have missed out on. If anything, it’s got us incredibly excited to hear what else they share as we get closer to the new EP’s release date.
