Quest LA expands his sound on versatile single, "Distance"
Pivoting his sound and introducing new ideals and tones into the mix, Quest LA has completely nailed it on his latest single, “Distance”. Please read on for a closer look into the track, as well as a much needed background on the artist.
Freshly released on October 7th, 2022, Quest LA has done it again in expanding his horizons on his newest musical endeavor “Distance”. With an end goal to expand his sound and introduce “East Coast vibes”, we can confidently claim he’s done exactly that on this catchy and lyrically impressive single. From beginning to end, it offers listeners a chance to hear a different side of this artist, but if for some reason this happens to be your introduction, there’s no doubt in our collective minds it’ll urge you to explore everything you’ve missed so far.
To call “Distance” versatile would be a total understatement, mainly because it shows off immense diversity in both production, expressive lyricism, and song composition. You’re getting the best of Quest LA by far, taking everything he’s done correctly in the past and maximizing it to the point of experimentation for the future. In today’s Hip Hop landscape where everything sort of feels like a recycling or influence from others, this specifically feels like a forward step into a new realm and niche. It features original and inventive beats, an absolute sincerity within the artist’s vocal delivery, and a chance to get an insight on personal experiences. Instead of manufactured stories that may or may not have happened, you’re receiving a slice of realism through focused storytelling.
At just a little under three minutes in runtime, our only real “complaint” is we wish it were longer. You immediately get sucked into the atmosphere that the musician has created, not wanting it to end, but at the same time it provides that urge to either listen again or explore more of his music. With a rapidly growing catalog over the past year or so, now’s about the time to hop on the Quest LA bandwagon, we can only imagine much more is in the works and on the way.
