Bailey Parker impresses on dynamic debut LP, "Unified Gemini"
Reshaping Hip Hop and putting together something incredibly memorable, Bailey Parker’s debut record Unified Gemini is 100% worth your time. Please read on for our full review of the record, in addition to a background on this artist.
Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, Bailey Parker has consistently been making original music that tend to highlight his dynamic style and live performances. After starting out this year in 2021, he’s been hard at work in the creation department, but his debut Unified Gemini was the definition of overdelivering. Whether you enjoy Hip Hop or not, there’s surely something you could enjoy on this high energy album.
While we foresee a surge of fans coming his way in the US, he’s already cornered his local market by being awarded Best Songwriter at the Missouri Music Awards this year. In our opinion and having made the connections within the lyricism on Unified Gemini, we’re not surprised in the slightest. He’s done the always impossible task of expertly toeing the line between pure artistry and creating something meaningful in the expression.
Coming in at 10 tracks, spanning right around 26 minutes in length, Bailey pulled all the punches and left almost nothing to be desired at the end of the listen. He put his best music forward, kept the quality unbelievably high, and that’s really all you can expect from a debut. Going forward though on subsequent releases, he’s set a high bar for himself to be able to top, however we’re sure there’s plenty left in the bag to capitalize on in 2022. As far as Hip Hop goes, he’s actually thought outside the box here to craft an original sound.
Our favorite songs were hard to narrow down, but ultimately we decided “Grind”, “Time Wichu”, and “Be Something” were the standouts. We still absolutely recommend you check out the album in full, but we’ll be coming back to those specifically in the future. All songs had their moments, but for any music listener, there’s always those that hit those sweet chords.
With all being said though, plain and simple Bailey Parker is legit. Do yourselves a massive favor and check out those links below in order to get listening, follow along, and stay tuned for more!
