DUAL discuss the GUM and Ginoli remix of newest single, "Lately I Don't Know"

Released on July 23rd, 2020, DUAL’s fantastic new single, “Lately I Don’t Know” was remixed by none other than GUM (Jay Watson) and Ginoli (James Ireland). We had a chance to catch up with Maurice Miller and Jamie Pyne of DUAL to discuss the specifics of how the remix came about, their plans for new music, and who they’ve been keeping up. WWAM: How long have you been working as a duo in Dual?
DUAL: We've been making music together since high school in our older band Narwhal. We've been working together as DUAL for around 3 or 4 years now. We started out just making random tunes for fun and then decided to try it out live at a house party and have been playing live since then.
WWAM: Compared to your original version for "Lately I Don't Know", what do you feel that Gum & Ginoli brought to the remix that overall improved the song?
DUAL: It's completely different to our single, the remix transports you into a different headspace and we love it! Every time I hear the remix I feel like I'm in a psychedelic Eastern European rave surrounded by concrete pillars and neon lights.
WWAM: How did you get in contact with Jay Watson and James Ireland for a remix on your single?
DUAL: Someone from our team reached out to them with 'Lately I Don't Know' and they must have connected with it, we were frothing!
WWAM: Is there a bigger project in the works? Potentially an EP or full length album?
DUAL: More singles coming very soon and an EP out by the end of the year. We're super excited about our new material and can't wait to get it out there
WWAM: Who is your current favorite independent artist or musician making music?
DUAL: Racing - They're a band from New Zealand and they'll melt your face if you see them live

WWAM: What would you consider to be your favorite album release of 2020?
DUAL: I'm loving the new DMA's album THE GLOW at the moment. It's such a good time!
