Phoebe Bridgers Gave Us The Moon at SF's Outside Lands
If you’ve been even slightly tuned into the music scene over the past few years, there’s a great chance that Phoebe Bridgers has become a familiar name. Well, this past weekend at Outside Lands in San Francisco, she simply blew us away with her headlining performance on the Twin Peaks stage. Please read our full review of the night below.
Now while we would have loved to see Sza throw down on the main stage, it was honestly a no brainer for us to catch Phoebe as we’re massive fans. We saw her previously this year at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, so we knew what to expect, but she continues to blow us away at every turn with her vocals that resonated throughout Golden Gate Park. The set itself was right around an hour and 15 minutes, but she busted through the best tracks off of Punisher, we saw her newest song “Sidelines” for the first time, and we’d be lying if we said we didn’t shed a couple tears in the process.
Undoubtedly though, the greatest moment of the set by far was how it just mysteriously started to rain during the most intimate part of “Moon Song”. I felt like I was dreaming as I felt the trickles come down my face, and as that song always hits super hard, it’s a festival memory I will never forget for the rest of my life. Additionally, I managed to make some fast friends where I was standing who were equally as excited as I was, but they had never seen Phoebe live before. Getting to witness their happiness as well as my own was a total treat and a real cherry on top to an amazing concert.
Considering that Phoebe is playing so many festivals and other events this summer and beyond, there’s a great chance you’ll be able to catch her somewhere, but let this be the article that pushes you in the right direction to do so. There honestly isn’t much else to say other than Phoebe Bridgers is at the top of her game and we sincerely can’t wait to see how she manages to up her performances as time goes on. Please go ahead and listen to her music using the link below if you haven’t done so already.
