L'Rain Deliver The Rhythm & Grooves at Outside Lands Festival
We’ve got a real confident feeling that the world is going to be hearing a lot about L’Rain in the coming months and years. We got the chance to witness her up close and personal this last weekend at Outside Lands and what a wild time it was! Check out our full review below.
Kicking off Saturday at the Sutro stage, we can’t think of a better mood setter or genre of music to truly get the crowd into the festival spirit. As soon as you walked into the festival on the East side, you were bombarded with sound, style, groove, and a wondering as to who the hell that was absolutely slaying. L’Rain has certainly made some waves, as recently as last year’s album Fatigue, but we’re already excited to see what else comes in the years following.
As for the set itself, honestly it was a lot louder than we had anticipated which was a plus and a real stage presence from the entirety of the band who were also stellar. For those of you who may not know though, L’Rain is both the frontwoman and name of the band, so let’s not get that confused. During their 45 minute set, it was such a great feeling seeing others come down the hill to explore what was going on. There’s a wondrous feeling we all get when we see others having fun, but for those that were in the know prior to the festival, they got their early enough to see it all go down.
Ripping through some of their bigger songs like “Two Face” and “Blame Me” were so surreal to see after listening incessantly over the past year, but it’s the cohesiveness and immersiveness of the set that felt the most surprising. There’s a good chance that L’Rain is going to be out on tour for the foreseeable future, and with hopefully a ton more coming for the band, now’s the time to listen for yourselves and get fully familiarized with the band’s music. We’ve gone ahead and linked it all below so you can stay up to date and not miss out on anything L’Rain!
