Sean Paul Debuts "Scorcha" at Album Release Party in Los Angeles
Celebrating the release of his all new album Scorcha, reggaeton legend Sean Paul made his way to The Novo in Los Angeles for a night full of live debuts, classic hits, and an upbeat energy. We were there front and center to recap the night and have a full photo gallery below in case you couldn’t make it to the party!
Considering that Sean Paul and his music literally formed our music tastes of today, you can only imagine the sheer excitement as he hit the stage to a sold out crowd of nearly 2,500. Of course we all know the hits like “Temperature” or “Get Busy”, but the artist hasn’t slowed down one bit since the mid-2000’s. He’s featured on some of music’s biggest songs featuring stars like Dua Lipa, Shaggy, and infinitely more. His newest album Scorcha, which came out yesterday on May 27th, 2022, is also a feature-packed record with collaborations from Sia, Gwen Stefani, Ty Dolla $ign, and the list goes on.
We’ve been to The Novo plenty of times, but the insane amount of energy and anticipation leading up to Sean coming out is like nothing we’ve ever witnessed, seriously. He’s obviously got a global presence and a rabid fan base, but the looks on concert goers faces when he hit the stage was truly priceless. We’ll be honest though, we were actively trying to keep it together ourselves. The first instinct is always to take your phone out and film, but on the other hand, we did get some impressive pictures featured below.
As for the actual show, it was a bass bumping adventure from start to finish. Mixed in with plenty of the old hits, a spanning of his discography with everything in between, and some live debuts off Scorcha, there was something for everyone. We had the chance to listen to the album on release day, so we were familiar enough with the songs, however they certainly translated better in a live setting. His backing band were on point and strapped with crazy drum fills, inventive bass lines, and a passion on their faces like they were as excited to be there as we were.
For now though, if you haven’t yet checked out the record or anything else from Sean Paul, please go ahead and click the links below to do just that. Enjoy!
