Zinqq gets dreamy on reflective single, "Don't Step On The Cracks"
Delivering all the positive vibes on his newest single, consider us mighty impressed by Zinqq’s latest single, “Don’t Step On The Cracks”. Please read on for our full review of the track, in addition to a background on the artist.
Currently based out of London, “Don’t Step On The Cracks” is the 6th overall release thus far from emerging artist Zinqq. Literally getting better and continuing to refine his sound on each subsequent single, this latest endeavor expertly shows off his skills as a lyricist and performer. You can expect a playful and upbeat song about feeling good about yourself after realizing your own self worth.
The resounding message here is really to “let go of baggage that was previously holding you back”. It feels like all too common of a sentiment to be honest, but the complexity in which Zinqq has delivered these lines somehow amplifies the themes so much more. Given that he’s also done the difficult work of blending a unique Hip-Hop sound with bedroom pop, the production continues to be one of our favorite aspects of the song. It sets the atmosphere right at the beginning and lays the groundwork for what ultimately became an introspective and optimistic song.
As mentioned previously, this is only Zinqq’s sixth release, however we feel that he’s already so quickly found his stride in the genre of music that he’s making. For so many, it could take years to really nail down that specific sound and niche, but everything about “Don’t Step On The Cracks” exudes the confidence of someone who’s been doing this for years on end. Going forward, we’re not quite sure we’d want to hear anything else, only an expansion of what’s already been done here.
Lastly, we want everyone out there to get listening to this lovely song as soon as humanly possible. We’ve gone ahead and included all the important links below in order for you to get listening, follow along, and stay tuned for the rest of 2022’s release. Don’t miss this one!
