Xy Bird craft a super groovy debut single, "Leave It"
On just their first official single titled “Leave It”, Xy Bird have managed to turn us into serious super fans. This song is fantastic! Please read on for our full analysis of the track, as well as a background on this emerging band.
Currently based out of London, Xy Bird are an Afro-Indie R&B duo with a ton of different influences sprinkled throughout their music. Made up of Daisy and Andrew, these two have just shared their immaculate debut titled “Leave It” that features an eclectic mix of soul, afrobeats, and a whole lot of passion effortlessly infused from start to finish. Without a doubt, we are highly recommend you give this song a listen as soon as you possibly can.
With Daisy providing her silky smooth vocals and Andrew lending his talents as an multi-instrumentalist, the duo together writes, records, and produces all of their music. Just released on November 5th, we’ve legitimately had this one stuck in our heads since release day. Considering it’s just their first song, we know full well that we don’t want to burn ourselves out on it, but really that’s just a positive sign of how transcendent it really is. No doubt, you’ll find yourself grooving along and most likely dancing by the end of your initial listen.
Seeing as though there really are so many cultural influences that show themselves on “Leave It”, we’re quite interested to see what direction the duo goes in the future. While we’d definitely want them to stay in the same lane vibe-wise as this song, their talents know no bounds for the greatness that we know they’re eventually going to follow it up with. Normally we’d have some sort of critique, but honestly this is one of the stronger debut singles we’ve heard in quite some time. You can feel the immense amount of passion that went into it and it feels like every “standout” moment continues to be our new highlight.
Truly, we don’t want to spoil anymore and would really just suggest that you listen to really get the feeling of what we’re talking about. You can do so by clicking the link below, in addition to following along with Xy Bird in order to keep up with everything new. Enjoy!
