WOLVES share the origin story of Single "Pa’ Arriba Pa’ Abajo" - Interview

Upbeat and anthemic, WOLVES have just shared their latest single "Pa’ Arriba Pa’ Abajo" (The Drinking Song) and luckily for us, we got the opportunity to sit and speak with the band to hear the details. Check out our full interview below.

Currently based out of Los Angeles, California, WOLVES are an alternative pop music duo made up of Marc Avery and Sean Carney. Together they were inspired by a friend during a recent trip to Mexico, which ultimately transformed into the song you’re about to hear today, "Pa’ Arriba Pa’ Abajo" (The Drinking Song). Transcending genre and pivoting their sound a bit, this is a step into the future for the group, and we’re 100% here for it wherever they decide to go.

Known for their explosive production and always catchy hooks, this all new single doesn’t deviate in the slightest from what has been working best for WOLVES. With help from their drummer Jonathan Rodriguez to infuse pop and reggaeton elements into the track, it’s breaking down barriers of their sound from the past, with the hopes to “connect cultures across the globe”. During our lengthy conversation with Marc and Sean, they gave us the full origin story on the song’s creation, which we’d highly recommend you not miss out on prior to the listen. Honestly though, it goes to show that you don’t need to spend months and months on a song for it to be great, rather live your life and the personal experiences should come flowing in like this one.

With a ton more music on the way in the coming months, we also got some valuable insight into the experimentation that’s coming and even a glimpse into major plans for 2023. For the most part, WOLVES are keeping things loose and having tons of fun in the process. We’ve now had the opportunity to explore the rest of their discography, and while this does feel like a slight outlier in style, it’s still bursting in passion and creativity from beginning to end. All that being said, please go ahead and check out those links below to listen, follow along, and of course to keep up with everything else on the way.
