Who Are You Lutra Lutra?? deliver instrumentally impressive LP, "Remember The Lines"

Making a swift return to music with the delivery of their fourth full length album titled Remember The Lines, we welcome everyone to Who Are You Lutra Lutra?? Please read on for a closer look at the record, in addition to a background on the band.

At the helm of Who Are You Lutra Lutra?? are two fantastic artists, Julien and Fabian Thomas. However, they’ve brought on additional musicians who fully complete the sounds on Remember The Lines. Backed up by Maciej Sadowski (double bass, Poland), Ditte Barild (vocals, Denmark) and Norlene Olmedo (cello, Venezuela), these five total collaborators have given us something both incredibly meaningful and sonically vibrant from start to finish. We’ve sincerely loved our listen and cannot wait for everyone out there to give it a spin.

Currently based on the coast of Brest in France, you’ll quickly hear inspirations from Bright Eyes or Devendra Banhart, however the band has consciously infused a whole lot of originality and freshness into this album. At just 6 total tracks that span right around 20 minutes or so, the vision is clear from the beginning and the literal years of hard work that went into it all were worth the effort. Featuring dynamic vocal ranges, an unreal and expansive instrumentation, and ultimately one of the most original works we’ve heard in quite some time, Remember The Lines is undoubtedly a winner in our eyes.

While the record does only come in at 6 songs, they waste no time immersing the listener right from the start on “You Don’t Know More”. By the end of “Dazzled and Gone” (which might have been our favorite of them all), you’re hooked and practically begging for more to come. Although they’ve surely stuck to a particular style and somehow mended an atmosphere, it should go without saying that the album is as cohesive as can be. With the art of the “album experience” unfortunately losing out to individual singles, it’s beyond refreshing to hear a complete work like this that flows so smoothly. Seriously, this is a piece of art for music enthusiasts and purists who are looking for a little bit of everything on their palette. Plain and simple, we enjoyed this immensely and know you will too.
