All set for its official release on June 4th, 2021, VUNG is preparing himself for what may be his best record yet, SINCERE. We got an advanced listen of this stellar record, so please read along for our full review, in addition to a background on the artist.

For those out of the loop, VUNG is a Nigerian Afrofusion Pop and R&B artist who’s been writing music since the young age of 8. Sticking to mainly Hip Hop, but redefining his art to be more melody-focused and show his vulnerabilities, his emergence as an artist is showing another side of his overall sound. After building up a dedicated following, his fans should be thrilled at the release of SINCERE.

Blending up the literal best parts of both Pop and R&B, VUNG has immediately taken us by hold on this latest record. We’ll be honest as this was our first introduction to the artist, but after listening through multiple times, he’s not only created fans for life on our end, but will solidify his existing base. Pulling influences from the likes of Drake, Wizkid, and Saint Jhn, he single handedly created even more of a niche for himself on the album.

Now we obviously don’t want to spoil too much ahead of release day, because we need you to get into it and listen for yourselves, but all 8 tracks on SINCERE are expertly building off of themselves to create a cohesive story line. You can hear thematically that it's a story being told, which is all the reason to start from the beginning and let it flow through until the end. The track “SOLO” was certainly a stand out for us, and in even better news, should be followed up in the near future with a music video to really break down the complexities of the message.

So as you can see here, there’s plenty to look forward to from VUNG in the coming weeks. As lovers of everything Hip Hop and Pop, he’s got a stunner on his hands that’s surely set to make waves within the genre. As a reminder, this record is all set for its release on Friday, June 4th, so keep a close eye out.
