Ahead of debut record, Violet Orlandi shares suspenseful single, "The Worm"

Shared officially on March 23rd, 2021, Violet Orlandi has come roaring back with a suspenseful new single, “The Worm”. Do yourselves a huge favor and read along with us as we share our complete thoughts on the track, as well as a background on the artist as well.

Based out of Brazil, Violet Orlandi is an incredibly impressive vocalist and instrumentalist who’s making waves all across the internet with her music. Influenced by artists such as Nirvana, Disturbed, Nine Inch Nails, and more, she’s got a debut record of her own coming out on May 28th, titled High Priest Daughter. If this newest single “The Worm” is any indication, the album is set to be one of our favorites of the year.

On the background of “The Worm”, Orlandi has chimed in and said, “I thought it would be a good opening song for this project as it describes in great detail what it feels like to be at a funeral and experiencing the passing of time. I remember how it felt to drive to the hospital every day to see my mom in her deathbed and wishing I wasn’t human, wishing I was a more simple being without any complex emotions, wishing I was a worm.”

Considering High Priest Daughter was written over the darkest period of her life, we expect the record to follow suit like “The Worm” and reflect those experiences, especially within the lyricism. Specifically on this newest track though, we couldn’t help but be instantly overwhelmed in the best way possible from the atmosphere created, especially given the context of the music. It should go without saying, but the obvious highlight of the track was just how impressive Orlandi’s vocals stood out from the rest of the mix. She’s beyond talented and for real, has sent shivers down our collective spines with this performance.

Seeing as though this is the first of three singles to be released ahead of the album, we’re sincerely hoping this isn’t the best of the bunch, however, we have a sincere feeling it won’t be. Taking the influence and direction from life’s experience tends to make for much better and original sounding music, so whatever the artist is willing to put out, we’ll be listening 100%

With all being said though, this track is a winner. We are highly recommending not only a listen of the single itself, but to follow along with the artist as she solidifies herself as a commanding voice in rock and roll.
