Incredibly catchy from the first listen on, Vân Scott has done it once again in creating something that feels unbelievably wholesome and true from the heart. On the artist’s newest single “Long Long Time”, we got the chance to catch up with Vân in order to get a background on the origins of the track, a peek into his newest album, and an interesting look into his process of creation. If you’re just now discovering his music, you’re in for a serious treat once you hit the play button.
Accompanied by an animated lyric video that depicts “loneliness in New York City”, it so accurately captures the overall mood and tone that “Long Long Time” exudes. On the background of it all, Vân has crafted this melancholic musical effort that ultimately “looks back on a love lost”. Putting on a serious masterclass in songwriting, jam packing this song with imagery-filled lyricism, he’s led with his expressive vocals that immediately immerse you into the personal situation. Having self-produced this piece and completing his vision of displaying an immense amount of emotion, it’s also got those signature pop characteristics that shine through and will undoubtedly have you singing along as well.
During our extended discussion, it really was such a fantastic experience getting to chat with someone who knows what he wants and has a path to get there. The artistry and musicianship speaks volumes if you explore the rest of his discography, but moving forward towards a second full length album has us ecstatic about everything that has yet to come. “Impress You” was the lead single, one that is also worth taking the time to enjoy, but we do hope that the rest of the record embodies the drama and similar style that this one has given us.
