Tyler Keel explodes in sound on 2nd single release, "I Say"

On only his second official single, Tyler Keel has managed to jam pack a seemingly infinite amount of originality and passion into “I Say”. Do yourselves a huge favor and read on for a closer look into the track, as well as a background on this artist.

Originally a game developer, but now pursuing his true passion of creating music, we can confidently say that Tyler Keel has done an impeccable job thus far on his first two songs. We thoroughly enjoyed “Happy As Can Be”, but nearly as soon as we hit the play button on “I Say”, we were enthralled and immersed in the energy. Listeners can expect a modern take on Pop Punk, slightly reminiscent of powerhouses like My Chemical Romance or Fall Out Boy. We’re encouraging everyone to give this a listen, so don’t miss out.

Taking a closer look into the process, Tyler actually wrote these lyrics before adding any instrumentation or style to “I Say”. On the background of it all, the song “focuses on the constant battle of 'do I move on?' and the difficult nature of a fracturing relationship”. All too relatable within its themes, this artist has put his heart on his sleeve in an extremely vulnerable way, taking the listener on a journey through his personal struggles. If you happen to be going through something similar, this is a wonderful song to take solace in. Furthermore, it’s seriously impressive the way he was able to so vividly paint a picture line to line as the song continues to open up.

Instrumentally speaking though, “I Say” is a legitimate shot of adrenaline in music form. We’re major fans of all things Pop Punk, especially his influences, and what this does best is takes certain cues but also completely carves out something unique for himself. In today’s day and age with a huge resurgence in that genre, it’s becoming more difficult, however there's a ton of freshness and new takes on specific classics. The best part of all of this though is really that Tyler is just starting out and we can already tell his creativity knows no bounds. Without a doubt, we’ll be keeping a close eye on his progression and crossing our fingers for more singles like this in the new year.
