Tsuga give a taste of their new LP with new single, "Scream"
Freshly released on April 4th, 2022, Tsuga have made a swift return from their debut EP with a fantastic new single, “Scream”. We are loving it! Please read on for our glowing review of the track, as well as a background on the band.
Made up of Travis Haws, Mike Tompa, and Samantha Godfrey, Tsuga (pronounced Soo-Ga) are an Ontario-based band currently specializing in progressive pop and rock music. Riding the successful coattails of their debut EP Storm Lantern, they’ve wasted no time whatsoever getting back out there with a new one they’ve called “Scream”. Perfectly dreamy in all the right moments, this song made us feel like we were floating on a metaphorical cloud.
Led by frontman, writer, and multi-instrumentalist Travis Haws, “Scream” is a precursor to their upcoming LP that they’ve titled Imago. Honestly speaking, we’re thrilled almost beyond words to hear what the follow up is going to sound like. We thoroughly enjoyed our listen of the EP, but there’s such a significant evolution in sound between the two thus far that has us excited to see what else they’ll come with. The production here is intense and a real recommendation would be to listen with a nice pair of headphones so as to not miss out on the subtleties that make the song pop the most. The vocals are right at the forefront, but the atmospheric elements presented are what’s setting them apart from other similar acts within the genre.
At just a little over three minutes in total length, Tsuga does an impeccable job of leaving the listener wanting more immediately after it finishes. The song is fully fleshed out of course and feels complete, but you can’t help but want to hit the play button again as soon as it finishes. We suppose that’s a good sign as it’ll have to tide us over for now before either the next single hits or the album gets shared.
