Taking the time out of his busy schedule to talk all things “Everything is Jah Love”, we got the opportunity to catch up with Trickified! Please enjoy our full interview below.

Led at the helm by Paul Babladelis, Trickified are a Costa Rican-based and Caribbean-inspired band that have delivered a jolt of feel good and overwhelmingly optimistic music with their newest single, “Everything is Jah Love”. With Paul on the vocals and a glorious cast of musicians that include Joe Bradley (vocals/drums), Jakab Selner (bass/vocals), and Tricia Babladelis (vocals), this four piece are consistently creating a special sounding music that’s jam packed with great vibes. Luckily for us, we got the breakdown and origin story of how everything came to be, along with some other inspiring stories.

On the background of it all, ultimately the meaning of the song according to Paul is it’s an all encompassing love, which is “all the people, all the planet”. He goes on to say, “it’s ‘everything we know, everything we forgot, everything that will possibly be”. One thing you’ll find consistently throughout Trickified’s music is everything is vibrant, positive, and looks at the world through an eye of optimism. Considering Paul has now been in Costa Rica for upwards of 30 years now, we can only imagine he’s living the laidback lifestyle and having these incredible times to collaborate with some of the country’s finest artists. So far, the music speaks for itself in the way it carries, the overall flow, and the tone of the music.

Another focal point of our conversation was the amount of influence that comes through within the band’s music. Paul was nice enough to go through his list of everyday listens that also gives the chance for him to expand his horizons for where Trickified’s music is crafted. The more you listen and experiment, the more breadth of sound you’re able to imagine. With so much more music on the way, as well as live performances, “Everything is Jah Love” is just the tip of the iceberg for what Trickified can accomplish.
