Tim Qualls goes retro on single and video for "Heartbreak"
Out on May 11th, 2021, Tim Qualls has just shared his newest single and accompanying music video for “Heartbeat”. Get on into this immediately and read on for our full review and background on the artist himself.
Representing the Houston music scene, Tim Qualls is a pop and soul artist who’s adding his own rugged and moody vibe to the mix. Tim himself described the song as “if the movie Drive were best friends with The Weeknd and The 1975”. Now if that doesn’t immediately make you want to scroll down and smash the play button, we don’t know what will!
As for Tim and his music, he’s showing his soft falsetto and a top notch production on the latest track, “Heartbeat”. While the song itself is as fantastic as anything else he’s put out, the real heart and soul has come directly from the music video that’s out with it. Shot wonderfully and featuring all the best in cinematography, it does a perfect job of setting the mood and feel that the actual song evokes throughout. It’s something that we’ve watched a few times now and it’s getting better with each viewing.
The song itself is obviously worthy of your time as it’s got the signature Tim Qualls sound displayed all over it. Retro vibes are at the forefront, but deep and complex lyricism is propping up everything else. It’s the type of song we’d describe as a slow jam, but also has a high enough BPM that you could definitely groove along as well if you’re in the mood. He’s mastered the art of balancing the lines between multiple musical genres here. It’s got a little taste of the 80’s, but a massive dose of modern as well.
The main priority as a whole here is to listen in, but if you’re feeling like it, we sincerely hope you check out the music video as well. It can’t be said enough how cool and atmospheric it really is. You can tell the immense amount of work that went into it as it shows from start to finish. We’ve linked it in the article below, so all you’ve got to do is click play.
