Therese Curatolo excels on highly relatable single, "Unrequited Love"

With its official release coming today on July 16th, consider us astounded by Therese Curatolo’s latest single and music video for “Unrequited Love”. Do yourselves a huge favor and keep reading for an in-depth look at the track and a background on this emerging artist.

Speaking directly to the anxiety filled world of only dating culture and instant gratification, Therese Curatolo has single handedly crafted a single that speaks to the truth of the matter. With a music video accompanying the ever catchy track and a whole lot of nostalgic and retro sounds filling our ears up, we can kick things off right now with an overwhelming approval of the entire package she’s presented.

Channeling a dose of the 80’s, bits and pieces of Toto and Genesis, and even a little bit of modern day John Mayer in the mix, Therese has still managed to carve out her own very unique sound on a song that makes you instantly want to dance and sing along. While we don’t want to give too much away surrounding the video (because we’d prefer you watch for yourself), we at least need to tell you how amazing everything else is. Produced by Allen Lewis and co-produced by Therese’s brother Paul in their family home, the beach-themed video was shot in Newport Beach, California and really has brought a much needed life to an animated song.

It would be a near impossible task to list every single highlight that stood out on the single, but if we could just narrow it down to a few, Therese’s vocals would be towards the top. Showing off her impeccable range that seemingly knew no bounds, it’s a vocal forward performance that hardly gets undermined by a cunning instrumentation and production backing her up. In the world of pop music, she’s played it elegantly to the point where it’s not too in your face, rather makes the listener want to immediately hop back in again for more. Instrumentally speaking, that shredding guitar solo to wrap things up was the cherry on top of a song that hardly needed it.

Pointing out any negatives would just be a lie at this point, plain and simple, we loved it and we think you will too! As mentioned, we’ve linked the music video below for your viewing pleasure, but the real priority is to listen to “Unrequited Love” however it suits you the easiest.
