The Starships join forces for dynamic single & video, "Living Water"
With a single and a music video just released for “Living Water”, The Starships are back in a massive way with this highly collaborative release. Read along with us for our full review of the track, as well as a background on the artists.
Made up of artists Nashoba, Danny Barz, Scott Damn and SharmonJarmon as well as the production stylings of Lord Haiti, The Starships have shared a dynamic new track, “Living Water”. As they’ve dedicated themselves to healing the world through music, this independent music collective are the five members of Chicago’s Lizm Muzik Group who recently released their multi-genre compilation album entitled Realizm Radio Vol. 1.
We couldn’t help but be overly impressed by the music video that was created for “Living Water”, but the background on it was just as unbelievable. Filmed on 57 acres of black-owned and woman-owned land in Alabama, “Living Water” embodies a powerfully spiritual experience that transcends beyond lyrics and instead, into each and every element of their art. We’ve done you the easy job and linked the video below.
Before we get to that, we need to share our honest thoughts on the single itself, which mainly is just going to be us gushing about how wonderful of a single this was as a whole. At just a touch over five minutes in run time, “Living Water” is as lyrically complex as it is productionally. With a seemingly endless amount of effects, fantastic features, and limitless highs, we can confidently claim this as a winner. There wasn’t a single dull moment throughout the entirety of the listen.
What always worries us about collective-type music is each talented member not getting their spot in the limelight. However this situation was different, you can so clearly hear everyone get their moment to shine, whether it be their own verse or section that shows off what they can do. Together though, they’ve formed to create absolute greatness that without a doubt will be living in our heads. As mentioned, as great as the song was, the music video brings an even greater life to it at all.
There really isn’t much else to say here, other than the obvious thought of when can we get more! Songs like this and groups like this deserve to be at the forefront of music, which is why we’ll be thinking of them in the coming months as we hope there’s more on the way.
Speaking of more on the way, we’ve included links below in order for you listen and follow along The Starships. Enjoy!
