The Landed excel on optimistic single, “You’ll Be Ok (For Vanessa)”

Reaching euphoric highs in the vocals from start to finish, we’re loving everything about the latest single from The Landed. Keep reading for a closer look at “You’ll Be Ok (For Vanessa)”, in addition to a background on this talented band.

Currently based out of Colchester in Essex, The Landed is a four-piece band specializing in a nice and fairly even blend of modern Rock and Pop. On their newest song called “You’ll Be Ok (For Vanessa)”, the band have nailed it once again, creating a real breath of fresh air in the genre that features unique melodies, bright instrumentation, and a whole lot of optimism and positivity within the lyrics. Needless to say, we’re excited for everyone to click the play button here as soon as possible.

Having played together for 10 years at this point, The Landed have shown no signs of slowing down whatsoever. On the background of this track, they’ve said this “was written for the wife of a lovely man and friend who passed away recently. It's very different to the music we would usually write owing to the circumstances”. In an incredibly tough situation to lose a loved one, or anyone close to you for that matter, the resounding message of “you’ll be ok” is sometimes all you need to hear to feel a bit of reprieve. It’s a constant within this song, with plenty of choral moments and repetition to really bring the message to light. Additionally though, The Landed have this song out in the universe for anyone who needs a metaphorical shoulder to lean on or to know that they’re not alone in the situation they’re experiencing.

Putting the message aside for just a moment, they’ve managed to bring such a vibrance to this all in the upbeat instrumentation, which was 100% the correct stylistic choice. In a tough moment like this, it’s shining songs like “You’ll Be Ok” that show off the immense capabilities of this band. They mentioned this isn’t like their normal music, and we can’t wait to explore more of their discography, but no matter what this has been an ideal introduction to their sound. They play with confidence, maturity, and really hit their stride in a well rounded sound. Again, we love this, and are urging everyone to listen.
