The Hollow Truths inspire on nostalgic sounding single, "Normal"

Kicking off their 2023 on a real high note, The Hollow Truths have made their valiant return with an outstanding single, “Normal”. Please keep reading as we share our positive thoughts on the track, as well as a closer look into the band.

Having amassed quite the impressive discography since their forming in 2015, The Hollow Truths have steadily been making a name for themselves over the years. Blurring the lines in their sound but incorporating many elements of pop, alternative rock, and infusing a ton of 90’s influence into the mix, they’ve kept on that trajectory with an all new song called “Normal”. It’s a lyrically powerful and instrumentally diverse piece that we’ve quickly come to enjoy and appreciate. Of course, we’re excited for everyone out there to give it a spin for themselves.

Says the lead singer Brett Buehler on where he’s found his inspiration for the band’s music, it mostly comes from “books, habits, relationships, & Taco Bell”. I mean come on, who hasn’t found the light in a tasty 2AM taco! All joking aside though, the band as a whole really has brought an immense amount of concentrated energy and passion with this song “Normal”. Right at the forefront though, The Hollow Truths bring sort of a serious and suspenseful vibe through their sound, yet as the song chugs along there’s seemingly infinite euphoric highs that keep the listener more than enthused. They’ve created this brightness within the rhythm section, but the shining light and cohesion undoubtedly comes in the cadence of the singer’s voice. They’re warm, inviting, and go down a hole of introspection once you connect the dots within the themes of it all.

Currently based out of Baltimore, Maryland, an aside is that the band makes a conscious effort to entertain the crowd “as if they were in the audience themselves”. In today’s musical landscape where live shows reign supreme, that’s the ultimate mindset to have. Now that we’ve gone ahead and explored more of their music, it’s a personal goal to be able to witness them in their space entertaining a crowd. Truly, there’s a real intimacy that “Normal” holds in its tone, but we’ve found that it leaks into the rest of their catalog which was a total joy. Again, we cannot wait for everyone to take the time and give more than just “Normal” a listen.
