The Gelheads elaborate on newest EP "Tail Lights" and their return to music
Fresh off the release of their first EP in nearly 17 years, The Gelheads are back and better than ever on their newest piece of music, Tail Lights. We got the opportunity to speak with the band in our latest interview, which you can find by clicking the link below.
It’s been a little bit since the release of their debut EP Stars Motel (2004), but thankfully, The Gelheads are back on a new piece of high powered rock and roll, titled Tail Lights. We sat down with Frankie D’Angelo and Timmy Lydon to talk everything there is to know about the creation of the record, what they’ve been up to over the years, and their plans for the future. Hands down, this is one of our favorite interviews we’ve done thus far.
Yes, it’s been a while since the band last put out a proper release, however, they’ve come firing back like no time was lost at all. We’ll just kick things off here by enthusiastically letting you know that we’d love for you to give Tail Lights all the listens. It’s fun, inventive, original, and has a flair of the early 2000’s rock scene that’s difficult to replicate.
While we don’t want to give too much away, because we’d obviously prefer you watch the interview in full, we’ll happily let you know that the band is fully back together and already thinking towards the future for another release. While the dates are obviously TBD, we think they’ve got their sights set on a return to the road first. If there’s any music that deserves to be played in front of a loving audience, it’s what you’ll hear on Tail Lights.
We’ve also got to point out how unbelievably cool and calm Frankie and Timmy were. They took our questions in stride, gave thoughtful and respected answers, but mainly showed off their wealth of musical knowledge that can’t really be taught. They’ve played the big stadiums and lived the “rock and roll lifestyle”. We’re beyond thrilled they’ve come together again and recorded those demos that have been sitting around because seriously, it would’ve been a shame if nothing had happened with them.
As for the music itself, well, we think we’ve made ourselves incredibly clear that we’ve loved what we heard. We’re pumped beyond belief for what’s coming in the future, but for now we’ll certainly be streaming the EP for the foreseeable future. That’s where you the reader comes in, do yourselves a massive favor and get listening here! All lovers of rock will enjoy The Gelheads’ latest.
