Fusing up every musical genre under the sun, The Blemish have shared their outstanding new album titled Roboganic! Please keep reading for our full featured review of the record, as well as a background on the duo.
With an emphasis on Pop, Funk, Jazz, and EDM, The Blemish’s newest record Roboganic is everything we could’ve possibly wanted and more. Perfect for the hot summer months we’re currently experiencing, this one of the most instantly listenable and relatable listens we’ve heard in quite some time. Right off the bat, let us highly recommend you give a listen as soon as you can.
Made for the true music lover in mind, the duo of The Blemish have certainly achieved a new tier of greatness here. Entering their own unique world with the opener “Serial Jane” was the ideal way to introduce ourselves to the band. To be completely honest though, it only got better from there. The funk was turned up, it never fully stopped grooving out, and the instrumentation never ceased to make us smile from ear to ear. Filled with influences ranging from Prince, Earth Wind and Fire, and even glimmers of Daft Punk, the duo have still managed to carve out something very special of their own.
Coming in at 10 songs, spanning just around 37 minutes in run time, we quickly imagined ourselves listening to this album with the top down in the car cruising on the highway, or even at some sort of day club with a cold drink in our hand. The options would be limitless as the album hits different points of sound and really hits different ranges and moods. There’s no possible way we’d be able to pick out a favorite track, as that would be an impossible task, rather we suggest you listen to the full record in order for all the feelings to transfer over.
Whether it’s hot, cold, or right in between, there isn’t a single situation where we can’t imagine ourselves not enjoying ourselves listening to Roboganic. This is without a doubt going to be a project we keep a close eye on in the coming months and years, mainly because it’s the type of music we personally love.
