TARO share their latest single and visually striking music video for "Awake"

Recently released on August 14th, 2020, TARO are back with a new single and stunning music video for “Awake”. Read along for our full review of the track, in addition to a bit of background on this artist duo.
For those that don’t know, TARO are a duo based out of Fort Collins, Colorado. Their current lineup is comprised of Cheyenne Duba (vocals, songwriting, and production) and Steve Welhaf (production, guitar, and engineering). They’ve come together with their catchy tunes and danceable beats to create an extremely unique sound within mainstream EDM, but with a twist.
While touring is currently halted, TARO had plans to tour throughout the rest of the year, but we’re hoping that can be rescheduled quite soon. Venues they’ve performed at include the Downtown Artery, Oskar Blues Longmont, and Hodi’s. Their last two singles were released with Bass Rebels, a multi-genre record label based in the United Kingdom.
For fans of EDM with an electro pop feel to it, “Awake” should be the next song on your radar. Considering we’re in the depths of summer and all we want to do is dance these days, this song couldn’t have come to us at a better time. As fantastic as the single is though, the music video really takes it to the next level.
We highly encourage and recommend you to take the time and watch the video (attached below). While we don’t want to spoil too much, we do have to point out just how wonderfully trippy and beautiful it was to watch. It brings the song to life and gives it a whole new meaning. For your own sake, it would be preferable to watch on a big screen with the sound turned way up to get the full effect. Regardless of your viewing methods, you’ll thoroughly enjoy it in any medium, as it really is just an exciting watch overall.
While this was our first foray into the music of TARO, it certainly won’t be our last! Seeing as they have multiple releases planned for the rest of 2020, we’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for what’s on the horizon.
