Tarn PK expands his sonic sound on stellar single, "Street Noise"
Storming into 2022 with an elegantly beautiful single titled “Street Noise”, we’ve fallen in love with the soft sounds of Tarn PK. Please read on for our in-depth review of the track, in addition to a background on this artist.
Currently representing the music scene in Wellington, New Zealand, Tarn PK has blown us away with his expertly produced new single, “Street Noise”. Evolving his sound from his previous EP, his aim here is to focus on more “stripped back songwriting” with an effort to expand his sonic possibilities. In our opinion, he’s already achieved that astronomically because the sounds provided on this track are legitimately out of this world.
It’s not often a song can immediately send shivers down our spine based on one listen, however with the inclusion of so many different genres and elements, Tarn PK has done the impossible. Featuring glimmers of electronics, alternative pop, and wondrous vocal effects, every moment of “Street Noise” is more exotic than the last. One thing we feel the need to explicitly point out is that the vocals here really do provide a much needed constant throughout the song. There’s a softness about them, but they’re also quite endearing and powerful at the same time.
With this being the first release of 2022, and evidently a real change in sound from Monarch, it’s going to be an interesting journey to see how he continues to evolve himself throughout the year. We’re obviously hoping for another EP or maybe even a full length, but a string of singles that are as expansive as this one would be greatly appreciated. As this was our introduction to him through “Street Noise”, it’s safe to say we’ve done our due diligence and have come to the conclusion that he’s the real deal.
All that being said though, please don’t waste another moment of your time not listening to this. Do yourselves one better and check out the rest of his tracks to uncover those gems as well. We’ve included all the important links below for you to listen, follow along, and to stay tuned for what’s definitely going to be his biggest year yet.
