SuperLove provide a tell-all on newest single, "Bored" - Interview
With its official release on April 23rd, 2021, SuperLove have delivered their first single of the year “Bored”, which we are loving! We sat with the band in a full interview to discuss everything surrounding the impending release. Watch our full interview below.
Influenced by the local style of New York City, involving punk, jazz, and synthy bass, SuperLove have incorporated their own signature sound into an incredibly unique single called “Bored”. With super relatable lyrics, Constance Watkins (lead vocals) and Jared Watkins (multi-instrumentalist) are fusing an electro pop sound that is easily lovable. Our interview was fantastic and we highly recommend a watch.
Writing and recording in their brownstone townhouse in the city, SuperLove has been around since 2019 and we’re beyond thrilled that they’ve kicked off their run in 2021 with a catchy new single. We had no choice but to do some “musical homework” and check out what they’ve put out so far. To no surprise in the slightest, it’s just as great as you could imagine, but we really enjoyed the evolution and direction they’ve taken on “Bored”.
While we obviously recommend you to watch our interview to really gain the full insight on this duo, the main priority as a whole is for you to check out their music. In a musical world that features so much of the same sounds and structures, SuperLove are really going above and beyond to make sure that what they’re creating is unique in every sense of the word.
In addition to their music being great, they’re also fantastic people and it was a true pleasure to be able to break down the process and inspiration that goes into the music itself. Hearing the influences come to life, knowing about what’s planned down the road, and getting to lift the lid off of the creative brain of the project was an absolute joy.
