A fantastic visual collaboration between Stanley Odd and Oh Pandah has just gone live! Read along for our full review of the music video for “KILLSWITCH”, in addition to a background on the process behind its creation.
For those who may be unaware, Stanley Odd are a Scottish hip-hop collective who have just collaborated on this fantastic new music video featuring legendary Glaswegian graffiti artist, Oh Pandah. For some time now, Oh Pandah has been brightening up urban spaces across Glasgow with his beautiful talent and skill. Together, these two groups have put together an awe-inspiring music video for the track “KILLSWITCH” which is sure to turn heads as soon as you watch.
We don’t want to give too much away, because we’d prefer you’d watch for yourselves, but the video is so fun to look at. With the backing track of the hard hitting single by Stanley Odd and the visual representations featured, it’s certainly a match made in heaven between the two artists.
As for the music though, minus the video, we love the song! Seeing as this was our first foray into the music of Stanley Odd, it set the tone for our overall experience. All in all, the track is minimalistic in its beat, and we figure the reason for that might be because the listener should be focused in on the hard hitting lyrics. There are certainly some important themes and topics that are being discussed, some of which are showcased within the video.
As soon as we finished up the song and the video, we had no choice to go listen to more of Stanley Odd’s discography. It’s as simple as this, we’re absolute fans of their work now! We love their style, the uniqueness, and that they get straight to the point when creating music. It’s a fantastic change of pace to listen just for the lyrics, especially when the themes are as important as the ones they speak about.
