Sparxsea teases another winning single off upcoming album, "Chariot"

Debuted to the world on October 2nd, but still as fantastic today, Sparxsea has shared her latest single, “Chariot”. We are loving it! Please read along with us for our full review of the track, in addition to a background on the artist as well.
As a teaser off her forthcoming album, On The Sea, Sparxsea has served up an impeccable single that is emulating everything right in the world of indie folk and pop. With the help of Will Holland (Pixies, Dead Can Dance) and Will Bradford (SeepeopleS, TheWorst) on production, the trio have put together a breathtakingly strong track that has us excited for the album’s release.
While On The Sea is set for a Spring release this year, there’s nothing stopping you from getting ready for it than by listening to “Chariot” and the first single to be released, “Little Wooden Boat”. Both are solid representations of what you can expect off the LP, and let us confidently tell you right now, we’re certain to the album as a whole is going to be a winner.
Speaking directly on “Chariot”, we’re thrilled that Sparxsea is taking a stereotypically dull genre such as folk and revitalizing it with her own signature sound and endless charm. Featuring an acoustic opening to hook you in, followed by an inventively original backing beat that highlights glimmers of orchestration, this is the type of music we’ve been waiting to hear for quite a while.
The track itself comes in at just a little over 3 minutes in runtime, however, it packs a serious punch for those who are being introduced to the artist for the first time. While we don’t want to give too much away, because we’d much prefer you listened for yourself, the artist is sure to make waves once the album sees a full release. After your first few listens of “Chariot”, it is imperative that you take the time to check out “Little Wooden Boat” as well.
While this was our first foray into the music of Sparxsea, it’s absolutely not going to be our last. It’s not everyday that a song like this, and blooming discography, has us excited for an artist’s trajectory in the music industry. We loved it so much that we had no choice but to dig back and see what else she’s cooked up. To no surprise, her 2018 EP, SHINE, is also a winner that deserves a listen.
Wrapping things up though, we do hope that we’ve made it clear that “Chariot” is worth all your time to listen to. We’ll definitely be keeping a close eye on what’s to come in the near future. For now though, enjoy the single, and get pumped for On The Sea.
