Solari create a nostalgic vibe on dreamy single, "Everyone Is Your Friend"
Serving up their first single of 2023 and doing a seriously fantastic job, the duo known as Solari have a must listen with “Everyone Is Your Friend”. Read on for a closer look into the track, as well as a background on this emerging group.
Made up of David Baron and Renée Hikari, Solari are a New York-based project in which they’re confidently putting together an inspired blend of synth pop, among many other sights and sounds infused. Their newest song is called “Everyone Is Your Friend”, and while it’s accompanied by a visually striking music video, the song itself speaks volumes for their infinite talent and close attention to detail within a rich production. If you haven’t heard of Solari, this is the perfect introduction to explore more once it’s shared.
As David is a renowned producer and composer and Renée has masterfully reached new heights in drumming and beat making, the two perfectly complement each other’s musical capabilities. Now on our first listen through “Everyone Is Your Friend”, that synth poppy sound certainly came to the forefront, but there’s a dreamy element in the vocals and atmosphere that sort of took it to another level. The vocals have this lofi effect, sitting in the low end of the mix, whereas we felt the instrumentals and other effects took precedence and stole the show. With that being said though, it’s truly every facet, sound, and subtlety that come together to create a well rounded and hypnotic experience. Honestly, the more that we’ve come back for repeated listens, there’s other glimmers that continue to show themselves due to the density and complexity of the four minute track.
It’s clear at this point that we’re major fans of the song, but the music video definitely elevates the artistic vision of where Solari is headed. It’s got a nostalgic, slightly 2000’s feel that’s hard to replicate, but the combination of everything shows that they’ve flawlessly pulled it off. Now we don’t know for sure what else is headed our way in 2023, but this particular style and niche of sound is exactly what we were looking for.
