SOARE strike perfection on massive debut album, "Anthropomorphic Demons"
Blasting off with a wall of sound and every possible emotion, SOARE have just shared their heavy debut album, Anthropomorphic Demons. Do yourselves a huge favor and read on for our full featured review, as well as a background on the band as well.
Formed in 2018, SOARE is a Wyoming-based hard rock and metal band that have just put on display one of the most complex albums we’ve heard in a while, titled Anthropomorphic Demons. Made up of members Rob, Yukon, and Nova, this trio are pulling influences from a wide variety of genres. You’ll hear bits and glimmers from multiple metal genres, as well as rock and pop. Sincerely, we can’t wait for you all to dig into this massive sounding album.
To begin here, we instantly found it perplexing that this amount of noise could be attributed to just three individuals, so please take that into note before you get listening. With Nova and Yukon sharing the work of vocals and Rob taking care of their instrumentals and overall unique sound, these three are an instant match made in heaven. As this was our first introduction to the band overall, we truly didn’t know what to expect, but they left us all collectively with our jaws on the ground and an unending respect for their difficult craft.
Coming in at 11 total songs, spanning just around 52 minutes in run time, there isn’t a single lull or dull moment to be found on the entirety of the record. Our initial thoughts, and something that we ended up loving the most, were how perfectly Nova and Yukon’s vocals played off of each other. While Nova would sort of ‘lighten” things up and spread the message, Yukon would quickly follow up with his signature vocals that brought a true grittiness to the mix. All the while the instrumentation and production levels stayed at max capacity. There wasn’t a single moment that passed by during our listen that we weren’t banging our heads along or playing the air guitar trying to relate.
This was by far an incredibly cohesive album that we wouldn’t recommend skipping around on. Start it off from the beginning and let it run through untouched until the very end. Whether you’re into metal music or not, we confidently feel that this would be a great jumping off point to explore the genre. Seeing as though this is SOARE’s debut album, we fully expect their 2nd LP to be even bigger and grander than ever. Until then though, hop into this album with all the excitement. Enjoy!
