Sharone delivers a riveting experience on 4th LP, "Morbid Illusion"

On her fourth full length album Morbid Illusion, Sharone has continued to impress in new and imaginative ways, furthering her evolution in sound. Please do yourselves a favor and keep reading for our full analysis of the record, in addition to a background on the artist.

Currently a solo artist that enlists members to tour and help record, Sharone is currently based out of Denver, Colorado where she’s putting together anthemic and memorable music. Fusing the melodramatic side of Evanescence and glimmers of psychedelia a la Black Sabbath, her latest record Morbid Illusion is the perfect amalgamation of everything she’s created thus far. We are sincerely recommending a full listen through this flawless album.

Coming in at 10 songs, spanning 34 powerful minutes, Sharone immediately lures the impending listener in on the opener “Left in the Dark” where she showcases her high energy vocals. Paired all together with a heavy instrumentation and top tier production, everything that’s going on in the background expertly plays up this artist’s talent. Emotional in delivery all across the record, there sincerely isn’t a single dull moment or lull on the entirety of it. You can prepare yourselves for a heart racing album experience that doesn’t let up until the final moments.

According to Sharone on the background of the record, “This album was about healing. I went through hell before I wrote these songs. Morbid Illusion was about therapy more than anything else." You can so obviously feel whatever the artist was feeling while listening to this album, but at the same time, you have to commend the musician on being able to detail personal experiences in her life for the entirety of the world to hear. There’s something so personal about making music, especially the fact that the deep lyricism opens the door to the life of someone you may not know.

Starting to imagine a “favorite” off the album would be a seriously impossible task as each song has taken on a life of its own. In our opinion, this is more of a full listening experience from start to finish, rather than cherry picking singles you could put on a playlist. Do yourselves that favor we mentioned and strap in for the full ride by starting at the beginning, it’s the only way to really enjoy it. One more thing, you’ll want to crank this one up real loud as it was meant to be heard.
