SevenOh!3 Sounds immerses the listener on "After The Chill...Instrumentals, Vol. 56"
Bringing a whole new meaning to the term “prolific”, SevenOh!3 Sounds has unsurprisingly returned for the 56th edition of his After The Chill instrumentals. Please read on for our complete review of the record, as well as a much needed background on this artist.
With a dedication to release an unprecedented album per month with at least 10 tracks, SevenOh!3 Sounds is pushing the envelope with this insane release schedule. On his latest After The Chill…Instrumentals, Vol. 56, he’s proved one thing for sure, that the quality isn’t lacking in the slightest. As each song embodies different genres, styles, and sounds, there’s still a real cohesion between his production style that we can’t get enough of. Needless to say, we’re highly recommending you check this one out specifically.
We’ve had the pleasure of reviewing artist’s who are celebrating maybe their 10th album and beyond, but this is really like nothing we’ve ever encountered. Most artists are lucky if they can get a song a month out, but SevenOh!3 Sounds is stepping up the game with an album per month. In this situation though, these 10 tracks that come together at around 38 minutes of runtime are complex, deep, and all stand up on their own. Typically we feel like we “judge” instrumentals a bit harder because you don’t have that vocal aspect or lyricism to draw the listener in with a story, so everything else has to be amplified. With that being said though, there’s more than enough going on sonically here to not leave you feeling bored or like you need to switch to the next song.
Although cohesion probably was not a factor when putting the track list together, there’s no doubt that these songs still flow incredibly well from one to the next. Ultimately you’re riding the wave that this artist is hand crafting for you but things never really get too out of control. By the end of our listen we were feeling like this particular record could be used in a ton of different settings. It’s not difficult to envision yourself having this on in the background as you study, putting it on at a party or BBQ, or just cruising down the highway zoning out to some seriously impressive beats.
Through these 10 tracks, SevenOh!3 Sounds has sincerely impressed us and we already know that there’s more on the way! In the meantime, please do yourselves all a favor and check out the links below to listen, follow along, and to stay up to date with all the major news.
