As one of Canada’s rising singer-songwriters, Scott has been on a linear path to greatness with each release and it’s truly songs like these that keep the fans coming back.
Now a seven-time JUNO Award nominee, it’s not shocking to know that Scott Helman is dominating the Canadian music scene.Having already collaborated with Alessia Cara and Hunter Hayes, not to mention touring with greats like Tegan and Sara and Shawn Mendes, there’s no telling how high he can go. As long as the quality of music stays up, which we have no reason to believe it wouldn’t, get ready for Scott Helman to be a household name.
As lovers of all things that even slightly resemble pop punk, we can’t tell you just how refreshing it is to be able to review music like this that fits so well into our personal listening tastes. While we review it all, it’s music and artists like this that keep the spirits high. Going back into Scott’s discography and perusing the past hits, “Old Friends” has already proved itself to be one of the most replayable, however that’s certainly up for debate as the releases continue to flow.
Our initial thoughts after our first listen were just how perfect this would be to witness in a live setting. When we describe something as “anthemic”, we instantly picture it in a way where a sea of 50,000 fans are screaming word for word right back to the artist. The songs are timeless, genuine, and wholeheartedly original in the sense that audiences will be listening for years to come.
