Sans Patrie gives all the details on self-titled album - Interview
Fresh off the release of his debut self-titled album, we got the extra special opportunity to sit down and speak with Sans Patrie. Please check out our full interview below.
Currently based out of Brooklyn, Fernando Borrego is an Argentinian/Spanish artist who is much better known as Sans Patrie. With a self-titled album recently released, the artist stopped in for a full discussion to break down the record in full, talk about what’s on the horizon, and a slew of other topics we’re excited for everyone else to hear about. While the priority is certainly to give his music a listen, it’s a chat you’re not going to want to miss out on.
To begin, Sans Patrie’s signature style comes through immediately within this rock accented record, but the heart of it all lies within its immense amount of passion and emotion. On the background of the record, Fernando’s aim was to create “the ever-elusive desire to feel a sense of belonging forged in a new identity that embraced the central idea”. Lyrically speaking, there’s definitely deep moments scattered throughout it, but the listener has to slow down and make the connections through the message.
Considering that this all took nearly two years to complete, we can confidently claim that the attention to detail continues to be a consistent highlight. Through the harmonies, catchiness of the choruses, and the sheer inventiveness through the instrumentation, you never stop desiring more as each track ends. While we took the time to speak more in-depth with the artist about the intricacies, don’t be surprised to hear them right at the forefront on the opener. Sans Patrie is begging to be listened to loud, chronologically, and with a completely open mind as a precursor to what you’re about to experience.
With all that being said, we’re already patiently waiting for its inevitable follow up, hopefully sometime in the near future. For now, please go ahead and check out the links below in order to listen, follow along, and of course to stay tuned for plenty more in the future.
