Samantha Leon guides through her long-awaited EP, "Mystic Lady" - Interview
Giving the world another piece of art that follows up her debut album, Samantha Leon dropped in for a full interview to discuss the intricacies of her newest EP, Mystic Lady. Please check out our full discussion below.
For those out of the loop, Samantha Leon is a singer, songwriter, and New York-native that delicately put together her personal life experiences into an outstanding EP she’s titled Mystic Lady. Luckily for us, we got the chance to sit and speak with Samantha in order to cover the background of the record, its recording process, what else is on the way, and a variety of other topics. Varied in sound, style, and genre, the artist has completely nailed it on her long awaited follow up, which is why we’ve got to overwhelmingly recommend a listen for all.
Now what is still a stellar record instrumentally, where we felt Mystic Lady shined the brightest was in its songwriting and ultimately Samantha’s vocals that brought all the conviction and passion into play. While the EP is certainly cohesive and flows quite nicely from track to track, she does a fantastic job of immersing the audience through each song. It’s almost as if she’s guiding you through her personal timeline and explaining first hand what’s actually happened. She pulls no punches in hiding the stories, but it’s her imagery filled lyricism spread throughout that makes you feel like you’re envisioning a music video all in the process.
We definitely spoke at length about the origins and what inspired some of these songs, but it’s nice to have a bit of mystery too. Of course we recommend you check it out for yourselves in order to experience it all, but to most definitely enjoy our discussion beforehand to get a behind the scenes too. Considering it’s an EP, it’s not unbelievably long in length, but oh does it pack a punch in its sonic nature and atmosphere. For now though, we promise not to spoil anymore, so please check it out as soon as you can!
