Rya produces a top notch single, titled "Unlikely"
Released officially on July 2nd, 2021, Rya is back with his third overall single titled “Unlikely” that we’ve quickly fallen in love with. Read on with us as we break down our full thoughts on the track, in addition to a background on the artist as well.
Menat Pink, who is much better known as Rya, is a self taught multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and top notch producer who’s been involved in music for over 10 years at this point. Branching off from multiple projects, he’s gone solo and put 100% of his passion for the craft into expressing himself. On “Unlikely”, he’s proven to us that he’s an absolute powerhouse of the music game.
Influenced by a wide variety of artists like Kanye West, Common, Lauryn Hill, and so many more, Rya’s overall sound is an amalgamation of everything you want to be listening to. While this is just his third single shared overall, we think this could potentially be his best so far. Not to knock the others by any means, but “Unlikely” instantly stood out on its own merits from the production alone. Like any artist, as they continue on producing their own music, they tend to get better at it and this fully shows us that’s the truth.
Simply speaking, this has all of the elements of what we consider to be an outstanding track. Building off the successes of “Look At Me” and “Anymore”, you can audibly hear the improvements in sound and minor tonal shifts that have overall been a net positive for the artist. While we’d love to hear everything he’s been involved in prior to the solo career, we’ll surely be keeping a close eye on everything that gets shared from him here on out.
With all that being said, and without trying to sound too cheesy, “Unlikely” should absolutely be the likely choice for you to listen to. Considering this is getting shared on release day, there would be no better day to run up the streaming numbers than right now. You know what to do, hit that play button!
