As the weather heats up in the Northern hemisphere, it’s songs like Ridg Downs’ latest released track “Tipsy Light of Summer” that get us the most excited! Read along for our full featured review of the track, as well as a background on the artist as well.

Currently representing the Los Angeles music scene, Ridg Downs is a singer, songwriter, and performer, who’s effortlessly mixing in bits of indie, pop, and EDM into a completely original sound. On his newest single “Tipsy Light of Summer”, Downs has completely brightened up our lives, which is why we have to overwhelmingly recommend a listen of the track.

Coming onto the scene in April of 2020 with his first single and lyric video, then following it in May with his debut EP called Midnight Scars, we’d say this artist is off to a hot start thus far. Described as fresh, playful, and fun, his music is primed for the hot weather seasons, but to be completely honest, you could crank it loud at any time of the year. While we absolutely loved our initial listen of the single, we had to go back and do some digging within his discography, which also did not disappoint. His base is set as an artist and the sky is truly the limit at this point.

Featuring a top notch production and groovy bass lines that are virtually guaranteed to get you moving, “Tipsy Light of Summer” is a big winner. Everything coming down to the lighthearted vocals that carry the tune and the ease of entrance in which any listener could immediately bop along, it’s the type of song we know we’ll have on our summer playlists on repeat.

Even though it’s been a little over a year since Ridg Downs’ debut, you can audibly hear the improvements from the debut single to where he is today. Honestly, the improvement is palpable within each release and we think this may just be the best presentation yet. While that’s our belief, we’ll obviously leave it up to you for your first listen.
