Kicking things off with a complete bang, the latest work from Riccardo Moccia has been nothing short of high powered and passionate. Putting his own spin on the genre of Death Metal, he’s also incorporated the use of harmonic singing, derivative of Mongolian, Indian, and Japanese chants. The single itself was wonderful and we’re even more excited for Sensed!
We’ll begin our review by letting all our readers know that this is not the typical sound of a song that we normally review, however it is 100% worth your time to dive into and expand your minds a bit. Riccardo Moccia has put his heart, soul, and unbelievably heavy vocals into “Freewill” to make for a truly unique listening experience. If Death Metal isn’t necessarily your genre of choice, we still encourage everyone out there to open your minds and explore what you may or may not enjoy.
At just a little under three and a half minutes in run time, Riccardo had his hand in every part of this song. Taking care of the vocals, instrumentation, recording, mixing, and mastering, this is an artist who clearly has a vision for what’s next. The heaviness and passion is what came through immediately for us and ultimately what made us enjoy it so much in the end. You can feel the power come every step of the way and it doesn’t let up until the very final moments of “Freewill”.
Impressive is barely even the word to use here because we know how much work went into putting something like this together, especially when only one person was at the helm the entire time. With an album on the way, and this being the lead single, we can confidently state that bigger and better things are on the way for this talented musician.
