Rī Wolf bares his soul on his riveting new EP, "Strawberry Fields"
All set for its official release on October 8th, 2021, Rī Wolf is gearing up for his biggest release yet. We got a preview listen of his EP Strawberry Fields, and let us be the first to tell you, it’s wonderful! Read on for our full review and background on the artist.
For this South Texas-based storyteller, his newest work Strawberry Fields is an all inclusive original piece of work that hinges around his soulful vocals and expert guitar playing. Influenced by a whole lot of blues, soul, classic country, but also a ton of modern inspirations, we’ve loved our multiple listens of this inventive new EP. Do yourselves a big favor and make sure to give it a spin as soon as it drops.
At 6 total tracks, all with their own different vibe and atmosphere, there’s one constant that stays present throughout the entirety of the listen. Without a doubt it would certainly have to be Rī Wolf’s unique vocal delivery and imagery-filled lyricism that so elegantly paints a picture of the topics he’s covering. The flow and execution of Strawberry Fields was quite nice as well, especially because it’s so intriguing within its sound that it doesn’t allow for a single second to pass without something interesting happening.
While we thoroughly enjoyed the lead single “Slide” as a precursor to the EP, the five other tracks absolutely held their own in comparison. We were particularly fond of the title track “Strawberry Fields” and “You Won’t Stop The Rain”. There’s no doubt in our minds we’ll be coming back to the record for additional listens, but those two struck an instant chord with us. An electricity came through them like none of the other tracks and instantly put smiles on our faces. Whether it was the artist showing off his range or the sheer amount of emotion packed in, it didn’t really matter what it was specifically, because it was great.
Not to spoil it at all, because of course the main objective is for you to listen, but take our recommendation and keep an eye out for Strawberry Fields’ release on October 8th. You’re virtually guaranteed to enjoy every momentous passage on the record, which is why we’re so excited for everyone to listen.
