Reese Weil debuts a new laidback track, titled "Easy Daze"
With its official release coming today on June 30th, 2021, Reese Weil has just unleashed an instant summer classic going by the name of “Easy Daze”. Needless to say, we’ve quickly fallen in love with this one! Read on for our review and background on the artist.
Currently based in Chico, CA, Reese Weil is a classically trained guitarist who’s been playing since the young age of 4. Influenced by some of the greats such as Steely Dan, Tame Impala, Jack Johnson, and more, his signature tone and sound he’s brought to his music thus far is instantly recognizable. While the weather heats up, it’s songs like this that we’d like to soundtrack our summer.
After attending Berklee College, Reese has been hard at it making a career for himself within the music space. Playing shows spread across Northern California and coining his own sound called “lake-pop”, this feel good acoustic guitar music is in a league of his own. While we’ve loved everything the artist has released in the past, “Easy Daze” was instantly recognizable and relatable. Mixed with inventive bass tones and an easy going vocal delivery, this is just the type of chill music that we had hoped he’d continue to release.
As fantastic as the music actually is, the heart, soul, and passion that you can palpably feel within the sound is what’s going to keep us back in the long term. “Music has been the way that I have expressed myself my entire life,” says Weil. “It’s been the one constant and kept me sane when life felt too heavy. I will always pour all my soul into every song and performance I'm working on.” Artists like these that choose to better themselves are ones that we will certainly be cycling through in our personal listening time. Even better though, he’s eager to get out and start touring too. Being in California at the moment is certainly a plus, because our new hopes are to hit a show as soon as humanly possible.
Overall though, “Easy Daze” was an incredibly enjoyable and laidback track that we couldn’t get enough of. We’re not quite embarrassed to say how many times we’ve listened so far, but let's just say it’s been a lot!
