Phillip Sanders delivers a much needed dose of country on newest single, "Over A Beer"

Released earlier this summer on August 5th, Phillip Sanders graced the country airwaves yet again with his catchy new single, “Over A Beer”. Do yourselves a favor and read along with us for our full review of the track, in addition a bit of background on the artist as well.
For those who may be blissfully unaware, Phillip Sanders is an American country music artist and songwriter. Born and raised in Lake City, Florida. Phillip currently resides in Texas and is also an Oil & Gas and Commercial Investment Entrepreneur. He decided to pursue his dreams of being a country music artist and songwriter in 2016. Since then, Phillip has seen plenty of success, including him currently being #1 on Artist Direct’s Top 100 trending weekly artist, in which he has held the #1 spot 11 weeks in a row between July 10, 2019 to August 14, 2019.
It’s no surprise Phillip Sanders is as talented as he is, considering he’s the son of traditional country music songwriter Charles R. Sanders who wrote "Behind The Teardrops". Seeing that it’s all in the family, there’s no doubt in our minds that the artist will surely see as much as success, if not more in the coming years.
Speaking directly on “Over A Beer”, we weren’t quite sure what we were getting into when we first listened, but after our first run through, we’re so incredibly happy we did. As casual listeners of the country genre, it always takes a bit more to thoroughly impress us. With that being said though, with just one listen, Phillip Sanders won us over almost instantly with that classic country sound, as well as a lovely Americana feel that we really needed at a time like this.
In addition to the impressive instrumentation, “Over A Beer” was compelling and thoughtful throughout the themes and storytelling that it conveyed. When you’re not perplexed by the artist’s stellar vocal performance and delivery, there really is a story there that deserves to be listened to closely. We’ll be totally honest with you, as soon our first listen of the track was up, we instantly had to go back and dig into the rest of his discography. To no surprise in the slightest, it all was quite impressive and showed great foresight into what we can expect in the future.
Considering this was our first foray into the music of Phillip Sanders, let it be known that it certainly will not be our last. With all the singles that he’s released over the years, we truly feel that a cohesive EP or full length album should be the next step in his catalog. Who knows, maybe it’s on its way and we spoke too soon.
