NORÐIR excel on futuristic sounding single, "Inner Child (1987)"
Staying consistent as ever through 2022, NORÐIR are back again with their third single of the year titled “Inner Child (1987)”. Please read on for our full review of the track, as well as a background on these artists.
Coming from the minds of two liberal-minded musicians named Viktor and Lars, NORÐIR are a music duo that are putting together productionally magnificent songs with a signature flair attached. Specifically on their latest “Inner Child (1987)”, you can be prepared to expect a variety of instrumentation, crisp sounds and styles, and a whole lot of flair that’s setting them apart from the pack. We’re loving this one and can’t wait for everyone out there to give it a spin.
Through swirling synthesizers, electric guitars, infinite loops, and a diverse use of other effects, they’re spanning genres as much as they’re taking a look into the future. While their music feels like it’s rooted in rich indie pop, the electronic elements are right at the forefront. One of the first things that stuck out was just how atmospheric and expansive their music really was. The instrumentation is certainly the thing that sticks out the most and grasps the listener’s attention, however the vocal delivery is pristine and matches the mood elegantly.
Currently based in Germany, these artists have an extensive discography that’s growing quickly at this point. This was our introduction to their work overall, but “Inner Child (1987)” has piqued our interest to the point that we’ll undoubtedly be doing a deep dive on everything we missed. For an indie pop act like themselves to be this clever, futuristic, and having an aim to think outside the box, we hope to be able to witness it in person one day. Their music is begging to be played in a live setting as we can only imagine just how well it would translate, but in the meantime while we wait for them to make their way to Los Angeles, we’ll be exploring the rest.
