Nicholas Rodriguez-Fernandez opens up on EP, "Taking Mary To Jersey" - Interview
Fresh off the release of his latest EP titled Taking Mary To Jersey, we got the wonderful opportunity to sit and speak with the man behind the music, Nicholas Rodriguez-Fernandez. Please go ahead and watch our full interview below.
Currently representing the Miami music scene, Nicholas Rodriguez-Fernandez is a singer and songwriter that’s been cooking up some seriously meaningful and powerful music over the years. With his newest EP Taking Mary To Jersey just released, it was only right we sat down to get a much needed in-depth look into the stories and inspirations that helped to spur its creation. If this is your introduction to Nicholas’ music, you’re not going to want to miss out.
With a handful of singles, EP’s, and albums already out, Nicholas has made up for lost time in staying extremely consistent in his releases. One of our favorite parts of his music is just how personally touching each song is. On Taking Mary To Jersey, which is just three songs in length, Nicholas quickly sucks the listener into his life on “Intro” and gives them the idyllic taste of exactly what they’re going to get on the following two tracks.
What is mainly stripped back acoustic guitar music featuring his vocals, the point of the music isn’t bring someone in with cheap production gimmicks, rather to have someone listen that’s unfamiliar with this individual’s life and struggles. Through the course of just around seven minutes on the EP, Nicholas so delicately opens the door to his life through song. Getting to speak with him and hear the long versions of these stories was a total delight, and as much as we want you to check out the record, we want you to watch our interview even more
Without giving too much else away though, Taking Mary To Jersey is currently available to stream, and we have a sneaking suspicion that you’re going to love it. To stay up to date with everything else he puts out, go ahead and check out those important links below as well. Enjoy!
