Ngels shares his anthemic new single, "What You Wanted"
Rolling out his all new single called “What You Wanted”, the project of Ngels has struck gold again! Read on for our full review of the track, in addition to a background on this artist.
Currently based out of Salt Lake City, the musical endeavor of Ngels (pronounced angles) has proven his mastery in production and catchy hooks with the all new release of “What You Wanted”. Paired with a music video which we’ve attached below, this synth-fueled masterpiece will surely be stuck in your head for literal days to come. Needless to say, we can’t wait for everyone out there to give it a spin.
With a vinyl pressing on the way and a new album slated for release in Spring 2022, we can confidently say that now would be the ideal time to hop on the bandwagon of Ngels. What he’s been able to do sonically and visually on this track feels like an effortless evolution of Indie Electrock. So much music of the same vein feels like it gets released on a weekly basis, but this one specifically has broken the mold and infused a whole lot of originality and freshness into a genre that desperately needs it.
On the production, we’re not surprised that this is where this song thrives the most, however we were surprised how much we enjoyed the lo-fi vocals. An instrumental version of this song would have been more than enough, but creating layered textures of sound with background-like vocals was ultimately the right stylistic call here. Additionally, we would recommend you give this a listen on a nice pair of headphones in order to not miss out on those subtleties that are hiding within the mix.
We mentioned there was also a music video for this song, and let us potentially be the first to tell you that it’s a can’t miss. It brings a vibrant life to an already emphatic song, so please don’t miss it! Lastly, we’ve included all the links below in order for everyone to listen, follow along, and stay tuned for more on the way this year from Ngels.
