Monkaman examines "Apathetic Intentions" & producing on Ableton Live - Interview

Get ready and get prepared, because Monkaman is back and better than ever with the release of his newest record, Apathetic Intentions. Luckily for us, we even got the opportunity to sit down with the artist behind the music for a full interview. Watch it below.

Following up his debut album, All or Nuthing, we’re thrilled because Monkaman has switched up the sound and piled high a diverse selection of genres on his latest record, Apathetic Intentions. Currently representing the Calgary music scene in Canada, Monkaman has jam packed this record with glimmers of hip hop, rap, rock, punk, and so much more. Our interview with the artist highlighted all the most important parts.

Being directly influenced by artists like Eminem and A Day To Remember, there is truly a seemingly endless amount of emotion, passion, and influence that has creeped up on the artist’s latest output. Coming in at 10 total tracks, spanning just about 37 minutes in complete run time, this musician has managed to cast a wide net for all lovers of music. It’s gritty, divisive, and even aggressive at times, but at its heart it is completely original.

While we would absolutely love for you to watch our full interview with the artist himself to get a grip on where he’s coming from, we do feel that the main priority for you is to at least dig into the album and make the judgement for yourself. Getting to hear all about the process of creating it through Ableton Live, the influences that went into its creation, and the overall love infused to it by the artist was a complete treat for us as a whole.

Even better for those that are going to become fans after listening, the artist is already planning a conceptual album that is rumored to be a tad on the softer side of things, so if you’re not completely loving this, we recommend to stick around and find out what’s to come hopefully soon.

Seriously though, the man behind the music (Jayden Kellen) is masterful in his overall technique and has brought on a serious sense of artistry and musicianship to the likes of which we really have not heard in quite some time. Getting to speak with him about the record was an obvious good time, and he’s an amazing person as a whole, but the music speaks for itself as a whole. With that being said though, do yourselves a favor and get into Apathetic Intentions today!
