Groovy bass lines, uplifting vocals, and a compelling message, we are completely overjoyed with Cherry Makes Waves newest single, “Bisket Full”. Currently based in Amsterdam, this artist is effortlessly fusing a sound of electronic, dance, and avant-garde, wrapped up in a dreamy cinematic-type element. Don’t skip out on this track, it’s an absolute delight.
On the origins of the single, “Bisket Full” speaks to wild decisions made in the full light of love and lust. The playful name 'Bisket Full' indicates a man who has it all, or a basket full of cookies. Even better is there’s an accompanying music video for this track that was directed and edited by the artist herself! If that’s not true talent, then we honestly don’t know what is.
Self-described as “cinepop” music, before even learning about the artist, we had imagined hearing this song in a movie type setting, maybe even an action sequence. The song itself is moving in its own right and has created a vibe on it that makes you want to bob your head, but also learn the lyrics immediately so that you can attempt to sing just like her. Unfortunately for the average reader and listener, that’s going to be tough, because her vocals are out of this world amazing!
With just an EP and a single to her name so far, this is a project that we’ll 100% be keeping a close eye on as she continues to create and release. Going back and comparing her sound on the self-titled EP to “Bisket Full” was quite the experience, but has shown us how much an artist can really grow within such a short time frame. Seriously though, we have no choice but to recommend not only repeated listens of the single itself, but the music video as well. It’s a wonderful experience for those who are looking to expand their musical repertoire and find a new artist that they’re guaranteed to love. We hope you enjoy!
