Mila Nabours expresses herself on upbeat single, "Microwave"
Freshly released to the world on April 23rd, 2021, Mila Nabours has shared her second single of the year, “Microwave”. Please read along for our complete review of the track, as well as an origin story on how it all came about.
If you’re unfamiliar with the music of Mila Nabours, she’s currently creating some of the most thought provoking and well produced electropop within the genre. On her latest single, “Microwave”, it wasn’t difficult in the slightest to instantly fall in love with everything that she’s put on here. If you’re looking for an upbeat and highly danceable track, look no further!
So the story goes on the inspiration and name of the song, Mila let us know, “The name behind the song originated very randomly in the studio with my producer when we were coming up with themes for the song! Something about the word “Microwave” and so when we started writing the song, I used that word to reference my feelings. This song is reminiscing about old times, growing as a person and finding myself along with finding the right people in my life. I speak on important values like trust and loyalty, which have been traits that’ve been hard to find in others. The story progresses as the song goes, and by the chorus I express the idea that I’ve figured things out, started fresh, and claimed my future.
If that doesn’t instantly make you want to scroll down and hit the play button, then we truly don’t know what will. In this case though, we’re going to continue to proclaim our extreme love for the single. Really, there’s so much going on here when it comes to genre. You’ve got a well produced single that emanates glimmers of electronic pop, but the entire rhythm section gives off those 70’s funk vibes from the guitar. Mixing it all up with the vibrant vocals of Mila and we feel that this is an absolute hit that deserves to be heard by all.
Plain and simple, if you like music, you’re going to vibe with “Microwave”. In fact it immediately prompted us to check out the rest of the artist’s music, and to no surprise at all, she’s already got some existing hits in her quickly growing discography. Without a doubt we’ll continue to keep an eye out for whatever she puts out, because she’s proven that it’s going to be worth listening to.
This single has style, wit, and a personal touch to it that all should be able to relate to. Look past the glorious instrumentals for just a moment and dig into the deep lyricism on your second listen. As the artist stated above, these are personal feelings that have been directly injected into her music, and she’s put it out all out there for those that are willing to give a listen.
